Mar 12, 2010 - he should do all that preying stuff that is all.........he......you st..... to need only the god guy.... he did it all before why not now........the god guy should be helping

HikariHime29 Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - Geerup is a total douche and the most pathetic person I have ever seen. He would insult every person on the face of the planet and then ask for help when he gets a taste of his own medicine. I applaud you, DPRjones. You are a better person than I. I would have told Geerup to shove his right to freedom of speech up his bible.

bigboss025 Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - But giving Brock's record (plagiarist and liar), wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that those DMCAs are legitimate. I guess innocent until proven guilty. Hope that all these effort to protect their free speech don't go in vain.

ndjarnag Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - nice vid dpr. we needs these guys on youtube for the lolz

Segepop Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - I support freedom of speech for everyone but I couldn't (wouldn't) mirror any video posted by the two theists mentioned if I disapprove of the content. Nazzies, sexists, racists and extremes of any sort may speak their mind but I'm not going to be their means to propagate their messages. (and no, I'm not comparing Geerup or AA with any of the above mentioned). Support freedom of speech and help preserve it but don't promote hate or ignorance.

cobol528 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - I think that's a good point.

bariyou Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - Ugh, even when Geerup thinly disguises a request for help, he STILL comes off as a douche. What, can't he just polietly ask like TAA did? Oh no, of course not. He has to issue some "challenge". No doubt setting it up where he either gets the help he wants, or he gets to rail on people for not defending his sorry ass. This is why I can't stand Geerup, he just doesn't understand how to be anything other than a conniving, pompous fuck. Best of luck handling this, DPR.

Symos Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - Freedom of speech is a double edged sword. I may not like what geerup says, but he does have a right to say it. But they do need to allow others too.

UltimaXG2 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - Hey, redacted my old comment for using a split infinitive. I like how TheAtheistAntidote at least seems decent enough not to file false DMCAs or block people.

garytheagnostic Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - No love for geerup. He blocked me just for making a comment about VFX's (on VFX's channel) DMCAs prior to the latest drama. Geerup does not support free speech in any form and now he is crying for sympathy. Hypocrisy reaps no rewards.

smhussain62 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - @garytheagnostic True. But I would hate to see Geerup go. YouTube just wouldn't be the same without all the nutjobs. I think DPR is doing it right. Support his freedom speech but feel free to put his speech into context.

ackmonra Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - We need him to keep talking. Imagine how many rational minds have been freed because of the example given each of the countless times Atheists have exposed whatever new nonsense he's thrown out? Save Geerup and lets keep this stupidity-fueled fire of reason burning. :D

morganbath Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - No by all means we should fight them. But not by silencing them. We should let them announce their nonsense to the world and then laugh at them. So some people get their religiosity bolstered? What do you think will bolster them more, us laughing at them, or us silencing them?

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - I am not saying we should "silence" them. I do believe in free speech for everyone. However, if DPR is not directly affiliated with the person(s) that served the fallicious DMA, I dont understand helping these religious nuts. And I think us laughing at them will bolster their religious views more. Silencing someone certainly will diminish their influence- but thats not a good thing. In either case, YT is a privilege, and by no means the only way to convey a message.

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - "Imagine how many rational minds have been freed..."- So do we need to teach creationism just so rational minds can be freed to learn about evolution? There are many better ways to educate people with rational minds than to show them stupidity. I dont agree with false DMAs, but why try to help these guys? Should we give the taliban weapons just because we believe people have a right to defend themselves?

ackmonra Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - So do we need to teach creationism just so rational minds can be freed to learn about evolution? No; we need to never stop explaining how Science; not just evolution has consistantly destroyed the foundations of every religion. We need to help them because religion is exposed; deminished and eventually removed by skepticism; science and logical thinking. So long as the faithful don't hide from and arn't silenced in open forum- their days are numbered.

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - Im not saying we have to silence them, just that it is not our duty to come to their rescue. Again- we do not need to "keep" the extreme religous nuts just to show that we are right. I think it would be much more fruitful if we concentrated our efforts on veritas48 and the like. Geerup is just too easy and too far out in left field. And I contend that if the faithful ARE silenced in open forum their days are numbered- but I dislike that idea

ackmonra Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - "And I contend that if the faithful ARE silenced in open forum their days are numbered- but I dislike that idea " That is not what i said; infact i said the opposite. Providing they remain public about their views; creationists will keep talking/digging themselves into a bigger hole and i'm all for that. Our efforts seem boundless when it comes to shining light on religion and i never want that to stop; whether its funde creationism or diluted apolegetics.

KraisinsGhost Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - @2222554 Having read many of your comments here, I must ask if you are always this polite and genteel or do you save that just for us?

HeaIthyThinking Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - That's more than Geerup deserves.

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - "So long as the faithful don't hide from and arn't silenced in open forum- their days are numbered." - arent silenced in open forums their days are numbered means if they are silenced their days are not numbered. Also, you seemed to miss my previous question - should we give the taliban weapons because everyone has a right to defend themselves? I noticed your comment was marked as spam...

ackmonra Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - The taliban in using the weapons we could give them, don't weaken their own position. Your conparison dosn't hold too well. I'm saying that religious people should be encouraged to speak openly; because openly they'll be exposed to everything and may lose their faith. If they're left to just talk privately to one-another their strength increases because there is no doubt; only indoctrination. Its a very simple concept i'm trying to put forward; in what way do you disagree?

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - I kind of figured the taliban comparison would go over your head. Of course it doesnt weaken their position, it strengthens it. Sure, people could lose their religion if talked about. But not if talked about by religous people themselves. U dont need representation from both sides just to show 1 side is wrong. Just like u dont need a creationist to show that evolution is right. I just dont agree with going out of "our" way to help them on this particular matter.

ackmonra Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - "U dont need representation from both sides just to show 1 side is wrong. " Depends who your trying to convince. Honest rational and skeptical people will find the truth for themselves. But a close-minded indoctrinated person needs to hear the argument ringing between these two sides in order for their worldview to change. Left alone the lie persists. Whats with all this "going out of our way" buisness also; I don't quite understand how giving someone a little advice is so taxing?

juggaloryan3 Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - Look, all Im saying is, I would agree with DPR if he simply wanted to prosecute the people that allegedly did the false flagging. And IF as you say " a close-minded indoctrinated person needs to hear the argument ringing..." is true, I say they get plenty or religion talk from church. "Left alone the lie persists" - couldnt agree with you more! Thats why atheists are important on YT, not the christians. Going out of ones way does not mean its taxing - just means you wouldnt normally do it.
